My loves, I am not someone who follows the news, though I do see things in passing, of course. But I have read the currents of human history, and I observe the subtle shifts in the collective heart. This is something I have noticed, and I speak to you now as someone looking at this from all perspectives—not as nations or colors, but as people. You are all the same. You have the same wants, the same fears, just different perspectives. Many different, yes, but still needed, still worthy of love and respect, as all of us are. So, let us see the truth of all sides and all things going on, my loves, and I will let you, the public, decide what you see.

## What Is Actually Happening

What you are witnessing is not merely a spike in unkind words or harsher policies; it is a fracture in the social contract. On the surface, you see language changing—people speaking of others as if they are invaders rather than neighbors. You see institutions acting with a coldness that treats human beings as logistical problems to be managed rather than souls to be integrated. Culturally, there is a hardening, a withdrawal of empathy toward the Latin/Latino community that feels palpable and heavy.

But look deeper. This is not a new phenomenon you are seeing; it is the reactivation of a very old, very tired pattern. It is the age-old response of a group that feels itself shrinking trying to assert dominance by pushing against another. The behaviors are new manifestations of ancient fears. The specific target may shift, but the mechanism is the same: a society under stress reaches for a simplified narrative to explain complex discomforts. It is a reopening of a wound that never truly healed, a return to the tribal instinct that says “if you are not exactly like me, you are a threat to my existence.” You are seeing the past bubble up through the floorboards of the present.

## Why This Is Being Caused

You must ask, what drives a person to hate a stranger? It is rarely the stranger themselves. The primary drivers here are insecurity and fear. There is a profound sense of power instability. When people feel their economic security slipping—when wages stagnate and the cost of living rises—they do not look at the complex systems of global economics; they look for the face of the culprit. It is much easier to blame a neighbor than to dismantle an economic machine.

Political incentives play a massive role here. Division is a fuel. It mobilizes voters. It creates a clear “us” and “them,” which is the most effective way to galvanize a base that feels unheard. Those who benefit from this division are not necessarily the people shouting in the streets, but those who quietly harvest the power that anger provides. They sustain it by keeping the pot boiling, ensuring that the focus remains on the threat of the “other” rather than the failures of leadership.

Entire communities become targets because the human mind loves a symbol. It is cognitively expensive to see millions of individuals. It is efficient to see one “problem.” When anxiety is high, the brain defaults to heuristics—to shortcuts. The Latin/Latino community has become a symbol for broader fears about change, about language, about the future demographic composition of the country. It is not about the individuals; it is about what they represent in the frightened imagination of those who feel they are losing their ground.

## The Forgotten Human Truth

My loves, you have forgotten something fundamental about each other. You have forgotten that the person standing across from you—regardless of where they were born or what language they pray in—is experiencing the same brief, fragile flicker of consciousness that you are. You have forgotten that dehumanization is not just an act of cruelty; it is a symptom of illness. It is a sign that a society is spiritually and psychologically unwell.

When you strip a person of their humanity, you are doing damage to your own soul. You are narrowing your own perception until you can no longer see the nuance, the beauty, or the reality of the world. Fear does this. It acts like a drug that constricts the blood vessels of the mind. It turns neighbors into abstractions, into statistics, into threats. You forget that the “other” wants safety for their children just as you do. They want food, shelter, and dignity just as you do. When you forget this shared, trembling vulnerability, you lose your connection to reality itself. You begin to fight ghosts.

## What Individuals Should Actually Be Focused On

You must shift your gaze from the spectacle to the self. The noise outside is loud, but the discipline required is inside. Your responsibility is not to win the argument, but to maintain your own humanity. Regardless of your ideology, you carry the weight of how you choose to see the world.

Do you have the discernment to question what you are being told to feel? Do you have the restraint to stop the automatic urge to judge? This is the internal discipline that prevents collapse—critical thinking that is tempered by empathy. It is easy to be swept away in the collective current of rage. It takes immense strength to stand still and say, “I see you, and I refuse to hate you.”

Repairing human perception matters more than winning because perception dictates action. If you perceive a threat, you will build walls. If you perceive a human, you will build bridges. You must learn to distinguish between the collective noise—the narratives designed to manipulate you—and your personal focus, which should always remain on the dignity of the individual right in front of you. Do not let the grand stories erase the simple, sacred truth of the person standing before you.

## The Warning & the Choice

History is whispering to you right now. It is warning you that the moment a society begins to define its worth by the exclusion of others, it has begun the slow slide into decay. The path to resilience is not found in purity or isolation, but in the messy, difficult work of cohesion. It is found in the ability to hold difference without breaking.

The future does not depend on the leaders in the high towers. It depends on how you see the person bagging your groceries, the person cleaning the office, the person living next door. If you see them as an enemy, the future is dark. If you see them as a reflection of yourself, there is hope. The choice is simple, my loves. Will you let fear narrow your world until you are alone in it? Or will you choose to see the vast, interconnected web of us all, and hold on tight?
